At Wild Card, we’ve always believed that business should be a force for good. We’re proudly named as B Corp Certified since 2022, making us part of a global movement of companies using business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

For us, becoming a B Corp was never just about ticking boxes. It’s always been about embedding purpose into everything we do.

It covers everything from how we run our business, our messaging and values, to how we support our people, our clients, and the planet.

Our B Corp Journey: From Intention to Certification

We began our B Corp journey in 2019 with a clear ambition: to hold ourselves to the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility.

Our journey to the triple bottom line led us to become one of the UK’s first B Corp consumer PR consultancies. It’s an achievement we’re mighty proud of.

Since that day back in 2022, our obsession has continued. Always improving to be the very best we can be to deliver brilliant programmes strategically and creatively – while ensuring we remain true to people and planet.

What B Corp Means in Practice

Being B Corp certified isn’t just a label. It means we’re committed every day to balancing purpose with profit. It shapes how we build campaigns, manage relationships, and run our agency. It influences the work we take on, the people we hire, the causes we support, and the impact we aim to make.

It also connects us with other purpose-led businesses, both locally and globally, who share the belief that business should benefit more than just shareholders.

“B Corp challenges you to be better. It doesn’t stop at certification—it’s about what you do next.”
 – Kate Wild, Founder & CEO

Mission and Values

Our mission has always been to help progressive businesses and brands communicate their purpose through compelling narratives.

We’re inquisitive & curious, diving into the facts to discover the most exciting and relevant stories.

Our team always needs to know ‘the why’ – they can then deliver campaigns with integrity, honesty and transparency, for clients that hold the same values that we do.

Causes

With almost half of our team based in Cornwall, supporting local and national initiatives for the conservation of coastal and marine areas is part of who we are. We support Beach Guardian CIC. This is a Community Interest Company based in Cornwall. It was co-founded by father and daughter duo Rob and marine biologist Emily. Over the years regular beach cleaning has been done to collect and remove rubbish from the beaches; mainly plastics washing in from the ocean on the tide.

In late 2023 we created a Wild Card copse of trees by planting 18 saplings on land our founders own in Cornwall, to represent our clients and team as an alternative to our usual Christmas charity donation. The mixed tree varieties were carefully selected to maximise the potential for capturing and storing carbon. It is estimated that they will capture 20 tonnes of carbon over their lifetime.

Community

  • Carrying out a full supplier review
  • Working with Cornwall Council to support the Safer Streets Truro campaign
  • Team purpose days – our colleagues are given two purpose days every year to take time out of their working week to support their charity of choice, either individually or as a group.
  • Young and Talented Cornwall: We specifically support those facing social barriers, personal challenges or financial restraints
  • The Cornwall Community Foundation – supporting the Cornwall Christmas Fair
  • Supporting St Petrocs on their mission to end homelessness in Cornwall
  • Using purpose days to support Food Poverty Action Group

Our Work

  • Ethical and positive PR alongside quality assurance
  • Data security – our systems are Cyber Essentials Plus certified
  • Net promoter scores – six monthly questions to our clients “Would you recommend Wild Card to a colleague or friend?” to ensure our standards are being hit
  • Our response rate from clients doubled since our 2021 NPS measurement
  • The number of clients giving us a 9 or a 10 has doubled since 2021

How B Corp Shapes Our Work with Clients

We work with some of the world’s most exciting brands across the food & drink, travel & lifestyle and environmental & social industries. Our B Corp ethos runs through it all.

Each campaign is built with care and conscience.

Whether it’s across our PR & Comms services, selecting the perfect influencer partnership, or crafting an impactful social strategy, we ask the same question: how can we do this in a way that’s meaningful, responsible, and truly impactful?

What’s Next?

Our B Corp journey is only just beginning. Certification is a great milestone, but for us, it’s a launchpad. In the years ahead, we’re committed to:

  • Achieve carbon neutrality by 2030
  • We have three locations, London, Truro and Bristol with a salary weighting for London. We aim to align these salary brackets as we move forward.
  • Ensure we’re a forward-thinking, supportive place to work.
  • Finding and supporting more environmentally conscious causes and charities
  • Continuing to evaluate our impact across the whole organisation: at our next recertification, we will aim to increase our score again upwards from 93.5.
