Job to be done
Ahead of party conference season (November 2023), ensure the Government and wider parties knew the business community wanted greater action for the green agenda. Our role was to consult on language, timings and taking a visual story concept and making it fly – critically, beyond the echo chambers of the sustainability press.
Strategic approach
As part of our work for Business Declares, our approach was to shake up perceptions that environmentalists are not businesspeople. We needed to go big to capture the attention of the national media via a photo stunt. As a collaboration of partners including B Corp consultancies and brands, we all worked together to do what we do best; Wild Card’s role was to land consumer press including broadcast.
Creative campaign
Queue for Climate was the brainchild of our environmental partner Charlotte Sewell. Based on the insight ‘environmentalists are not businesspeople’, we flipped it on its head with this campaign. Hundreds of businesspeople gathered, in suits and business wear, to prove that insight wrong. Businesses do care about the environment, and they have a lot to say!
Results
- Hundreds of businesspeople gathered on Millennium Bridge to queue for climate and nature.
- A strong lobbying call – for UK Government to take action, at a key time ahead of party conference season.
- Coverage of the Queue across all major nationals including broadcast – BBC and Sky News, interviews with key business leaders.
- Support garnered from big brand businesses, banks and MPs to add weight – total 1800 signatures.
