As a proud B Corp, several of the Wild Card gang were among the hundreds of businesspeople lining Millennium Bridge last month to Queue for Climate and Nature – a peaceful protest masterminded by Business Declares and Business Stand Up on Friday. We added our names to an open letter calling on the government to act on climate change. We asked for faster ramping up of renewables, a level playing field for business action on nature and an end to fossil fuel licensing. We said it needs to happen now.
And of course, we weren’t just part of the throng. We were doing what we do best and giving the demonstration a powerful voice by coordinating the media centre. From whipping up interest among key media contacts to organising interviews and prepping spokespeople, we put our weight behind pre- and post-event coverage and the results were pretty spectacular. This BBC News article is just for starters and we’ve got to admit that helping to secure a full page in the FT made us more than a little emosh.
Standout coverage for the cause closest to our hearts #proud.
If you weren’t able to get to Millennium Bridge you can still make a difference. Sign the open letter to provide businesses with the stability and certainty we need.
