The Importance of PR in the FMCG Industry
Public Relations is used in marketing to sell your brand’s story and differentiate you from any competitors. By using a PR agency for your business you are putting your brand in the hands of a team who can spread the word of your brand in organic and creative ways.
At Wild Card we offer PR services to a range of FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), and Leisure & Lifestyle brands to provide expert advice and successful campaigns that boost sales and drive customers to your website.
PR in the FMCG Industry
At Wild Card we have worked with a variety of FMCG clients, from Kingsmill to Tilda Rice, Tetley Tea to Stork. The PR Industry has worked for these clients as we have provided outstanding campaigns that have stood out from competitors.
FMCG brands tend to benefit from experiential marketing campaigns that put their product in front of the consumer in a physical manner, as well as through creative social media challenges.
Kingsmill: The Kingsmillion Challenge
The Kingsmillion challenge was created to help launch Kingsmill’s 50/50 Multi-seed and 50/50 ‘No Bits’ Multi-seed loaves.
By creating an exclusive TikTok dance challenge with dance troupe Diversity, Kingsmill had the nation dancing whilst showing how their new loaves fit into a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The Kingsmillion Challenge is a great example of how social media and PR in the food industry can work for FMCG brands.
New York Bakery Co.: NY-style Block Party
The New York style Block Party took place in East London, giving out bagel tastings, shooting hoops and displaying a huge colouring wall for passers-by. The campaign was a fantastic success and shows a well thought out experiential event can work well for FMCG brands.
A similar success with experiential campaigns was the Tilda Freestyle Ricestaurant.
PR in the Leisure and Lifestyle Industry
As well as providing excellent PR for the FMCG Industry, at Wild Card we also provide Lifestyle and Leisure Industry PR. With Lifestyle brands we found that the best PR is all about emotional connections, so using social influencer campaigns and brand strategies are an effective marketing strategy for these brands.
Miracle-Gro’s Wellness Journal
We worked with Miracle-Gro to raise awareness for both their brand and their Wellbeing Journal.
Mental Health Awareness week was the perfect timing for the campaign, allowing us to align Miracle-Gro with the positive benefits of gardening by partnering with footballer Wayne Bridge to drive pledges to the LovetheGarden website. Once people had signed up they received a free copy of the Miracle-Gro Wellness Journal.
Partnering with Bridge and other influencers to promote gardening for your mental health had a positive impact on the campaign, garnering 3,000 signups to the journal in the first 24 hours.
