2022 seems to have flown by in the blink of an eye. It’s been a difficult time for many people across the country, and indeed the world. Whilst for businesses too, it’s not been without its challenges.

I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what’s made me particularly proud this year besides, of course, the brilliant team, clients and work we do here. And, in the spirit of the Christmas season, it’s having been able to ‘give back’ that’s given us Wild Carders a great deal of satisfaction.

This year, we committed to local pro-bono work equating to 2.5% of our annual income. We’ve helped with the organisation and promotion of the Cornwall Christmas Fair, which raised an impressive £74,000 for the Cornwall Community Foundation. We’re also working alongside Young & Talented Cornwall, a grant fund to support Cornish youngsters who may otherwise lack the means to reach their star potential.

Our team has each committed two full days of time to purposeful pursuits close to their hearts. We’ve litter-picked, volunteered at food charities such as South & East Bristol Foodbank, The Felix Project in London and DISC Newquay, and spent time learning about the incredible work done by The Women’s Centre Cornwall. Through this, we have met some incredibly inspirational people and organisations.

We are also pleased to have received our second B Corp certification for our London office – almost two years to the day we became B Corp accredited in the Southwest. A fantastic achievement which is, in part, a reflection of this commitment to civic engagement and local pro-bono work. We are one of only a handful of UK PR agencies to be B Corp accredited, and it’s delivered beneficial change and positive impact across the business.

Last but not least, our business would not be the same without our staff. That’s why we’ve rewarded them with extra holiday days this year, so they can enjoy a well-earned festive break.

We hope you have a brilliant Christmas too, and we’ll look forward to seeing you all on the other side.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
